53rd Annual Meeting Cancelled

Dear AASP members and fellow palynologists,

The new travel restrictions due to the corona virus pandemic have made travel to the US for many people impossible. It is unclear if this will be restricted to a 30 day period or will become a long-term issue. Obviously, the safety of our members and colleagues is extremely important to us. Therefore, the AASP board has decided to cancel our Annual Meeting 2020 in Baton Rouge. This was a very difficult decision and we are all heartbroken that we won’t be able to have a face-to-face this year. For those of you who have already registered, you will be refunded the full amount in US Dollars. Please note that if your home currency is not US$, the refund might be a little less money than the registration due to the fluctuations in the exchange rate and it might take a few days until we managed to return the amount to everyone.
A big Thank You to Sophie Warny, who pulled her heart out organizing this meeting! She did a wonderful job and it is a shame that we won’t be able to enjoy the fantastic program she and her team pulled together.
We want to thank our corporate sponsors for their help, we are extremely grateful to Hess, Petrostrat, ICA, BHP and Shell.

Please stay safe and hope for the best!

The AASP Board
